Nate's Bike

Hello People of the Internet,

This weeks blog post is brought to you by Nate Bosia. Nate is one of our AM’s (account manager) at Sony Computer Entertainment America. He will be riding his bike 545 miles next week in a fundraiser to help end AIDS. Sony is going to match any pledges Nate gets up to $2,500, so we thought we should one up Sony and double match Sony’s match, so it will be like a box of matches! BOOM!!! Don’t get left behind, pledge today so your donation will do triple itself overnight!

    Nathan from Capy here…

    Just wanted to add that Nate Bosia is also Capy’s AM, and one of the best dudes around. Friend to indies, lover of good games, helper of the little guy, defender of kittens/small dogs, and so on.

    Thanks to how FREAKING RADICAL the dudes at Behemoth are, any donation you make gets FREAKING TRIPLED. So donate to a cool dude doing a cool thing.

    Behemoth = awesome.

    This is FREAKING incredible! (Little known fact, all Nathans of the world grossly over use the word FREAKING in everyday conversation — see above.)

    Thank you John and the team at The Behemoth for the very generous offer. While the ride, nor the cause that it supports, is in any way about me, I am truly humbled by your support.

    I am just so very thankful that I have the opportunity and the health to take part in this ride and make a difference, however small, in this effort to help improve the lives of others. And I am equally grateful that you and your fans have decided to join me in this cause.

    This is what I am going to think about when I am on mile 385, hurting in places I didn’t know existed, when I need the motivation to tackle the 160 miles yet to go. Well, this and that whole saving peoples’ lives thing.

    As a quick update on my fundraising, we’ve got $500 left and 4 days to reach the $2,500 matching donation cap and anything that you can contribute will help dramatically given the 3x bonus.

    John: Please thank Dan again for the 2D bicycle. Now if he can draw me a finish line, I can skip the whole trip.

    I would donate, but the ALC site doesn’t give me the option on your rider page for some reason. I have donated to other folks in the previous months, so I dunno what the deal is :(

    My husband did the ALC a few years ago, and the best advice I can give you is to start doing your massage on your gastroc, soleus, and IT band *NOW*. Keeping all those in decent shape is critical for making it through the whole ride without hurting yourself during the ride. Pre-emptive icing and ibuprofen is also good.

    It’s nice to hear SCEA is supportive, this makes me more likely to buy Castle Crashers on the first day. Hopefully this also means Alien Hominid is coming to PSN soon ;) SCEA had been really great in getting innovative indie games onto PSN. My husband and I *still* love playing Everyday Shooter and PixelJunk Eden. Hopefully more games like The Path, Canabalt, Tuning, Continuity, and Trauma make their way onto PSN in glorious 1080p soon.

    Good luck!
